We originally planned on walking around the city today, but there was a renaissance fair happening at the beach and today was the last day. So we headed off for the beach. Covered in sunscreen and ready to roll. Bust. It was super cloudy and a little chilly when we arrived, but the weather changes pretty fast so we figured we would wait it out and stroll through the fair for a little bit. They have these amazing leather backpacks here, saw a few in Toledo too. I debated buying it for a while and figured I would regret it if I didn't. So now I am the proud owner of a leather backpack with buckles and things from Valencia. Huzzah. It was funny trying to talk with the guy about it. He wanted 35 euro for it and said a different one was 30... Amy and I together had 29.45 with us, so that worked. Boom 5 euro discount. Probably could have haggled it down more, but our Spanish wasn't so hot this afternoon and it started raining so everyone started putting stuff away.
We hid under a pavilion thing for a little bit then got the metro home. Then we planned on seeing a jazz concert, but messed up e military time. Bust.
Went on a walk around Valencia for a little bit and got a jarra of cerveza. Watched a creepy cockroach and then it started thunder storming. Night bust.
Last night was cool though. We went to the firework show at the beach and ate some roasted corn. Got some pictures for you dad, I watched them cook some so now you can try a new way. It was delicious. Ate a giant platter of paella before that. They serve it in huge skillet pan things and they are meant for at least two people. We found the cheapest place and ate there. They clearly didn't like us though, we got put in the corner with no air circulation or breeze and then some lady shoved a different, empty table so close to me it was a struggle to get out. Oh well. The paella was good! Valencia is known for it. Woot.
The fireworks were pretty good, lasted about fifteen to twenty minutes. They had a cool crossbreed between the weeping willow ones and the super sparkly ones that I liked a lot.
After that jonathon, host guy, told us which bus we needed to get home. Success!
I'll put up sone pictures in a little bit. Got some hilarious super hip pics tonight before the rain.
Tomorrow we have to reserve our train, let Barcelona guy know what time we are coming, buy some laundry detergent, do laundry, walk around and look at stuff, celebrate America, pack, sleep. Throw some eating in there and we are all set.
Adios!
